Colorado Rural Health Scholars Program A non-profit group sponsored by the University of Colorado School of Medicine and University Hospital. ALL students receive a full scholarship for tuition and room and board so that participation is free of charge and the program pays all student expenses. Students are exposed to science and health careers through instruction taught by University of Colorado Health Science Center faculty and medical students, laboratories, volunteer experience at a local hospital, mentors, and group activities. This 3 week program runs from Sunday June 5 - Saturday, June 25, 2016. Current Sophomores and Juniors are encouraged to apply. See your Guidance Counselor for application. 2016 Girls Leadership Council The Girls Leadership Council is a dynamic, one-week program designed by the Women's Foundation of Colorado to inspire and empower high school sophomore girls to create positive changes in their communities through leadership, advocacy and philanthropy. Following a competitive application and interview process, 20 girls entering their unior year will be invited to participate in the life changing program at the University of Denver. Attention all high school Juniors, Seniors and Under Graduates! This is a research apprenticeship program for high school juniors and seniors or under graduates who demonstrate an interest in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) to work as an apprentice in an Army-funded university research laboratory. Students receive an educational stipend equivalent to $10 per hour are are allowed to work up to 300 hours. Information on this opportunity, and many other STEM programs can be found on the US Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP) website.
